A teacher of piano with more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Joseph Line is also a celebrated piano accompanist, organist, conductor and church musician. He holds a bachelor’s degree in organ and piano and a master’s degree in conducting from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music in Ohio.
His doctoral degree in conducting is from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
His extensive career as a musician has included teaching positions as associate professor of music at the State University of New York College at Oswego, a Graduate Teaching Assistantship at University of Michigan and an endowed professor’s chair at Marshall University in Huntington, WV.
Dr. Joe has performed well over 200 recitals as a soloist and accompanist and has conducted both amateur and professional choirs, symphony orchestras and opera theaters to critical acclaim in both the United States and Europe. He has held music director positions for various churches including Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York City.
Since 1989, Dr. Joe has taught 35 students in two studios in the Princeton NJ area. He recently relocated to Coral Springs, Florida with his wife Darby and their shih-tzu, Mischa. Their son, Ken, is a restaurateur and chef in Philadelphia specializing in Thai cuisine.
